So, this is the graphic. We are going to just use the tongue
To start off we need to get the graphic we need on tracing paper
To start off we need to get the graphic we need on tracing paper. We stick down a piece over the graphic and trace it with a pencil
Now, placing the graphic over carbon paper and on top of a sheet of A4 white paper, we can get a exact copy of the image.
We did this as a4 as its heavier and easier to manage.
Now the important bit. By cutting off the top (or side of the graphic of the paper and placing it on the deck, we use 2 items to find the bolt holes, this shows us later where
the graphic is when the board has been gripped up in all black!!! Make sure to have the image as straight as possible, millimetres make all the difference.
Now, apply the mob grip and file it down
Trim off the excess grip with a sharp knife
And it should look something like a gripped deck now
Punch the 4 holes at the tail of the deck to identify the holes we are going to use to align the image up with
Put the A4 paper back over the gripped deck again and aligh it with those holes. Stick the sheet down with some blue tack to hold the page in place
Now its ready to be cut. With a good sharp blade in your stanley knife, start to very carfully cut along the outline of your traced graphic. do this as cleanly as possible, lifting the blade as little as pssible. This will mean the cut piece will lift out easier and in one piece.
Be carful when using a knife not to slip and cut yourself
Here we have our cut griptape
Carfully remove the cut piece and your finished
